You could start by editing your colors. Custom colors can be a big improvement. Your cover photo could also be larger, the current one is very small. You could send an invitation, do your own don't bother with the invite button, to all your friends and relatives with a description of the group and include the URL. Ask them to do the same thing to their friends and relatives. Good luck. It takes time to build an active group.

it's against TOS to obtain e-mails of unknown people and send them invites to a yahoo group- it's called spam. all it takes is one of those unknown people you send an invite to, to fill out a abuse form and there ya go.
your group looks fine- what gains members is a topic of interest and if it's not of interest, gaining members just takes time.

If you need to have people to join your group why not tell your friends and they tell there freind and ask them for there e-mails
